After a long break from writing, I am finally back. A lot has happened since my last post. I finished the deployment of Host.net’s cloud infrastructure out at the SuperNAP in Las Vegas, upgraded all sites to DataCore’s SANsymphony-V v9 product, and rolled out the latest cloud management platform from Citrix called the Citrix Cloud Platform (CCP) and the Cloud Portal Business Manager (CPBM).
I have also recently resigned my post at Host.net as CTO after nearly five wonderful years there to pursue my passion in storage. I now currently work for DataCore Software in Ft Lauderdale, FL. DataCore Software is the pioneer of the storage hypervisor and the clear leader in the software defined storage arena bringing over 16 years of experience and a ninth generation product to the table.
In 2004, when I was introduced to DataCore Software, I was so amazed at what they were doing in the storage space that I decided to start a consulting practice focused around DataCore and VMware solutions. It was a perfect fit. The scene changed a little for me in 2009 when Host.net acquired my consulting firm. I was then tasked with building the next generation enterprise cloud platform for a multinational service provider. Due in large part to the DataCore SANsymphony solution at its foundation, Host.net has enjoyed 100% continuous uptime on its cloud platform.
Since I now work for DataCore, I have come full circle, as a partner, then as a customer, and finally now as an employee. If that isn’t a testimony about DataCore, I don’t know what is. I have finally come home!
So now you know the history. Stay tuned in to this blog for what’s coming next. Its going to be one heck of a ride.
